As your previous Chief Deputy Coroner I know that the bond between a Coroner and the community it serves must be a strong and caring one. As a lifelong resident of Douglas County, I have served our community in a volunteer role for 14 years in Youth Ministry and 15 years as a Youth Baseball Coach. I worked hard to successfully build that strong bond and trust during my tenure under the previous Coroner Mr. Randy Daniel. I saw the direct impact of how a caring personal bond can effectively serve the bereaved during the loss of loved ones. I embraced this philosophy when guiding families through this most difficult time in their lives. My understanding comes from personally experiencing the loss of my father at age 10 and brother at age 13. As the principal figure in the position of Coroner, I will assure our residents that I will be there for them personally during their time of need. I believe one must feel called to perform the duties of a Coroner and one must desire the job to truly help those suffering the loss of loved ones.
My qualifications include:
• Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s 2015 Coroner of the Year
• Coroner Training from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center
• Death Investigations
• Child Death Investigation, Sleep Related Death Investigations
• Child Abuse and Neglect
• Child Death Prevention
• Child Fatality Review Committee Representative
• Mass Fatality Incident Response from GEMA Office of Homeland Security
• Served on the Metro Atlanta Mass Fatality Work Group
• Hazard Communication
• Biohazardous Waste Decontamination Certified
• Currently serve on the Board of the Douglas County Department of Family and Children Services and Region 3 Advisory Board
In addition to the above, I have worked in the private and government sector, thus having a valuable understanding of how to minimize the use of your tax dollars to maintain a lean budget. Above all, I want to make sure that the office regains its integrity and compassion, making sure that our families are being treated with the utmost respect by placing FAMILES FIRST! I look forward to working with so many of you who have already pledged your support to my campaign. And to those whom I have not yet met, I look forward to letting you know me personally in hopes to merit your vote. We ask for your prayers for me and my family as we begin this journey.
Putting Douglas County families first is my priority. I will ensure that those needs are met in the most timely, cooperative, compassionate, and fiscally efficient manner possible.
If you are willing to help with our campaign, please let us know how you would like to help.
